British Standard Locks
What Are British Standard Locks? If a lock shows the British Standard Kite Mark, it means that it’s been certified by the British Standard Institute for meeting the required security standards. Some insurance providers will insist that you have British Standard locks installed to be eligible for cover. To check if your locks are British Standard, look out for the British Standard Kite Mark, along with the British Standard number such as BS3621.
About Heathfield
Heathfield is a small market town in East Sussex. Historically, Heathfield lay on an ancient trackway (The Ridgeway), connecting the South Downs with the Weald. Its market charter was granted in February 1316 during the reign of Edward II. The Wealden iron brought prosperity to the town during the 16th and the 17th centuries. The coming of the railway (the Cuckoo Line) in 1880 gave it another new lease of life. The latter was not a financial success/ and the branch line between Eridge and Polegate closed in 1968. The trackbed is now named the Cuckoo Trail, part of the National Cycle Network.
Heathfield has a number of sporting clubs including:
- Heathfield and Waldron Rugby Club
- Broad Oak Football Club
- Heathfield Panthers Netball Club
- Heathfield Road Runners
- and more …
Famous residents include Olympic gold medallist Jayne Torvill, England rugby international Joe Marler, former Doctor Who actor Tom Baker, guitarist Fred Frith and national badminton player Heather Olver.
